I know that Teachers Pay Teachers is a fantastic idea and growing fast. I have seen it grow even in such economic times! The buzz is just starting with teachers at my school in south Georgia. There are so many wonderful products available that are really usable...not like what you normally would find elsewhere. Teachers really know what works in the classroom and usually we have to spend hours of our own time developing lessons and support materials not available with textbooks and teacher manuals. I have been teaching for 17 years, and I have never taught straight from the book. Textbooks are only one resource we use. Now there is a way to find materials that will work in the classroom by this incredible network of teachers nationwide, and also a way to post our own hard work and get compensated for it, as well as receive feedback from other teaching professionals. This is the best thing that ever happened since I have been teaching!
I LOVE TPT!

"I received my check and... thank you!!! As a person who took a tremendous paycut (@$12,000/yr.) when coming from corporate to the teaching profession, it's nice to know I can make extra money to supplement my meager salary. It's also satisfying to know that students around the country are having a great time with these lessons yet still learning at the same time. Thanks for creating this website!!"

"Congratulations! A thousand times! This is a great collective effort. I had not had time to really dip in and check my colleagues' material and I am not only pleased, I am absolutely fascinated by what I saw. Some of these activities are life long tools, truly. Thanks for all the free downloads, they are a true treasure.
I had already praised your idea, but I now see the quality of every individual participation I had a chance to check out. The quality of this site, in my view, given what I have had a chance to see, rates outstanding. I will definitely recommend it to other people".

An Open Marketplace for teachers! What an explosive idea! Children come and children go but teachers stay on and on, learning and learning. Some teachers become mentors, most subside into silence. Now there's a chance they can share - and share generously.

My colleague and I are delighted to have the opportunity to share the products that we make for our students with teachers from all over the world. Through uploading power point presentations, movie activity packets, games, and cultural units we have been able to challenge ourselves to create high quality, innovative products that save other teachers time and let them see how other teachers introduce lessons to their students.
We believe strongly that the Teachers Pay Teachers service is valuable to all of the teachers that benefit from the sharing of ideas and the ability to plan more efficiently.
