When young children are learning to read number symbols and compute 10 more than or 10 less than a number --- letting them identify those numbers on a 100 chart is an excellent practice tool. The recognizable picture that this activity provides also builds student confidence - they have read and covered the correct symbols!

After several years at the ESC I became the K-12 math coordinator for Round Rock ISD in Texas. I regulary present at NCTM national, regional and local conferences. I have also trained over 3000 teachers in the CGI philosophy.
