This is a fun little game that my first graders had a blast playing on our 100th day!
I made it for this special day.. but we will be playing it many more times throughout the year!
The way I played it with my students:
I had a prize worth $1.00.
The goal was to see which student/group could earn 10 dimes to win the prize.
Each student/group got three cards and they had to make the largest 3 digit number they could using these cards.
The group with the largest number earned a dime.
But be careful.. you could pick a special card that has a message like:
Give away a dime.
Pick a friend to get a free dime.
Take a dime from a friend.
Give back a dime.
You earn a free dime.
There are a few pictures of this game on my blog:

My class is always excited when I put this out at center time. Thanks!

This is a fantastic game! Though we played it on the 100th day, it would be great earlier in the year as well when focusing on coins or multiples of ten.

Thanks for the ideas. Will be using these Monday as we celebrate.
This is an awesome game. Just what I was looking for. I am going to use it two different ways...the way you use it and I am going to use it to teach before and after numbers.
