This comprehensive guide was created for middle and high school teachers who are interested in incorporating reading strategy instruction into their content areas. The guide includes seventeen classroom ready lesson plans, including six strategies that should be used before reading, seven strategies that take place during reading, and four strategies that will work after reading. Each strategy includes a purpose, explicit steps and student handouts. All of the strategies are research based and proven to be extremely effective. In addition, I have included all references and a two page list of websites you can explore. This guide is a compilation of ideas I have come across during grad school and ten years of teaching experience. It will change the way you teach.
