Number Sense is a vital concept for 1st grade! This is 1 week worth of number sense lessons (20-30 min. per day) focusing on the numbers 11-15. It covers skip counting, greater than/less than, even/odd and an introduction to place value along with reading and writing the numbers. These lessons are part of a group of lessons covering all these topics in my Number Sense Introduction Pack. Each lesson has partner work, individual work and a ticket out the door to ensure the student's understanding. Some of the lessons are asking the students to use a graphic organizer to explain their thinking. It is a great way to start off a successful year!! Directly correlated with the Common Core Standards and includes many opportunities for student engagement!
