This powerpoint game is for the $25K pyramid game for middle grades ELA. Covers topics such as:
-Propaganda techniques
-Literary genres

This game is fancy! Complete with fun titles, a built in digital timer and links throughout the game, it's like playing a real game show!! Your students will love it!
Students work in teams. When it is a particular team's turn, two students go to the front. The team chooses a category. One student has his or her back to the screen, while the other student can see the words listed. The student who can see the relevant vocabulary must elicit those words from the other student, without saying them. For example, given the vocabulary word "setting" a student might elicit that word by saying things such as "when and where a story takes place". Students try to get their partner to say as many of the vocabulary words as possible before the timer runs out.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
Before coming to Maryland, where I currently teach grades K-5, focusing mostly on 2nd and 4th, I was in North Carolina teaching ESL Language Arts primarily to grades 6-8. While working on my MS in ESL Education at the University of Tennessee, I did student teaching with grades K-8 in Sevierville, TN. I have also been invited to Busan, S. Korea, twice to conduct 2 week teacher training seminars on Content Based English Instruction for English language learners, and I am SIOP trained as well. In addition to my MS, I also have a degree in Spanish and Mass Communications.
