35 original weekly passages organized with the story on one page. Parent tips and comprehension questions are on the back. Each four week section is organized around a theme and includes fiction and nonfiction passages. Over the course of the year the passages cover a variety of genres: informational text, fable, biography, myth, folktale, tall tale, etc. All of it is common core aligned.

No. Sorry. The text is actually written in tables with the lines removed, so getting rid of the numbers would be really difficult. You could white them out if you don't need them.

I am having trouble printing each file!! I purchased the 2nd grade homework and have no trouble printing each file. It downloads it, but when I print, it prints out "PCL XL error on the paper. Not sure what I am doing wrong!!!

Oh no! I haven't heard of this before so I did some searching online. That error message is for HP printers, and it's a problem with the printer itself (especially if it's on a host network, like at a school) not with the file. You could try printing it on another printer or contact the tech specialist in your school to help. Good luck!

This looks really good, but before I purchase it I was wondering if the passages have a lexile level? I have found that many passages being used are way over the lexile level and have experienced a constant up and down with my students.

My district uses Fountas-Pinnell guided reading levels, so I didn't do lexiles. If you want I can send you 3 or 4 samples from during the course of the year and you can see how they progress.

Would you consider creating the fluency packet for first grade? I would purchase it in a heartbeat! I'm purchasing the 2nd grade version for my higher kiddos, but I'd love a first grade version to use earlier in the school year. It would be worth every cent to me.

We are definitely considering it. It is a popular request! We're working on 1st grade homework first, then 3rd grade morning work and homework. After that we'll look at fluency homework, which is the most complicated and time consuming to make. We're so happy to hear you like the 2nd grade version!

Hi Nicole! I'm so glad our products our working for you! Since originally uploading the Morning work and Fluency, TPT has added a "buy multiple licenses" option so we've been encouraging teachers at the same school to go that route. It gives you the same copying rights at a discount. However, our previous listing did state that teachers on the same team could share the files and we will honor that agreement. You can decide what works best for your team.

I purchased2 second grade common core units. The $23.00 unit that is out of this world! My teaching partner has already purchased and downloaded the homework unit, that too is wonderful. I meant to purchase the Second grade Fluency unit not the homework unit. I have not downloaded the homework unit it because I was hoping I could exchange it for the fluency unit. Is this possible?

This CC Fluency Homework looks great! I use DIBELS and one of my goals for this year (2012-2013) is to improve my students' fluency. I teach a 1st/2nd grade combined class. Is there any chance you will be making a 1st grade fluency? I am assuming you will not be, as you teach 2nd. In that case, would you suggest I only send this with my kids in 2nd?
