Hello! I love this product! I have used it very successfully this year. Please look at the second sheet of number 70 and numbers 5 ( should 28+5 = 33...???) and should number 6...fill in the missing parts of the 100 chart be 26 instead of 38?

You can look on the outline to see what is taught each day. There isn't a specific order. It progresses from simple to complex. My advice is to look at the page before sending it home. If you haven't taught it yet, put it aside for awhile.

The standards are listed in the original homework set (we added them later so that's why they aren't on the preview) but not the I can statements. We didn't think of it until the add on pack. We do plan to eventually go back and add them and update the file but there's some other things on the to do list first.

If you view the preview without downloading it we have heard there is some problem viewing that page correctly. In the full download you won't have any problems. There should be boxes that fit the shapes of each word. So for the word "because" it would start with a tall box to fit the b, etc. If you have any other questions e-mail me at sstorywindow@gmail.com and I can send you a screenshot of what it looks like.

I bought the common core homework from you at the beginning of the school year. I was so excited because my school just moved to the common core this year. I teach second grade but I was disappointed that I could not use most of this homework. It seems like it should be for 1st instead of 2nd. It is way too easy for my students to use. I also sent one of the sheets home and I can't remember which one but it had a huge mistake on there and I did not catch it before I sent it home and I had parents calling me like crazy for clarification. I was embarrassed that I did not know what it was suppose to be. Anyway, I hate to be critical but I thought you should know this and I did not want to leave it in the feedback section. I also purchased the fluency and I love that! Thank you.

We believe that the purpose of homework is not to provide a challenge, but to provide review and to build study habits. As far as content goes, each page is aligned with the CCSS for 2nd grade.

How do you use the phonics pages that say "write each word where it fits in the boxes." ex. pg 21 & 23 There isn't a box, some of the words are spelled correctly and some are not. Hi! There is a font there that makes boxes in the shapes of the letters, tall for l, short for e, etc. So the student finds the word whose letters fit into the shape boxes. If you preview the file, the boxes don't show up in the preview. But if you download it to your computer, it should be correct. Let us know if you still have problems!

This looks like a great product. My questions is does the book start out with homework that the student should have learned in first grade and builds on things that you teach or if it is set up as common core, does it have the standards so that you are giving homework in all areas that the students should and can do by themselves. I want my homework that I send home to be a review of what we have learned or that we are learning.

Sisters Heidi and Emily work together to create educational resources from different parts of the country. Heidi teaches 2nd grade and has a masters in education. Emily formerly taught 2nd grade and currently stays home with her daughter. We are passionate about making education fun for little ones and teachers alike. We have always wanted to work together professionally and TpT allows us to collaborate even though we don't live near each other.
