Please use these 30+ quotes (in Spanish and in English) in your classroom to inspire your students, to decorate your classroom, to copy and give to students, or to share with graduates! Many of the quotes are from famous Spanish-speaking people.
If you would like the quotes to be in black and white, you can easily remove the color to copy for your students (See 1st slide as an example on free download).

I plan to print and laminate these to post in my Spanish classroom (perhaps a new one each week.) I wish that those that originated in Spanish had been left in Spanish and then translated below. Also, it would be nice to have a brief descriptions below the author's name, such as: a novelist from Spain or a Spanish philosopher, artist, poet, and so forth. The one by confucious should say: lo que oigo se me olvida. The one by Garcia Marquez does not translate well into English. Was this his meaning?:"The few who have earned the right to make us cry will seldom do so." thanks so much for sharing your hard work with us1

While I may not post all of these signs, I like the idea of putting relevant quotes not only in Spanish but in English up around my classroom. I like to immerse my Level 1 students in the language and let them see text as much as possible.

We have taught High School Spanish levels 1, 2, 3, and 4AP, as well as Business and Conversational Spanish classes for adults. We have also taught college Grammar and Conversation courses. We have also directed Spanish Camp for elementary students for many years. We are published authors and Spanish text editors and evaluators. We are also both Nationally Board Certified Teachers (WLOE).
