3D Box Kit
Keywords: hands on, literature, math, creative, box, template, Shakespeare, history
We have found that having students work with projects in conjunction with literary topics helps to reinforce the concepts being taught. The 3D BOX KIT can be used to create cute and imaginative miniature boxes that can be used for decorative or practical purposes (gifts, storage, etc.), decorated with literary themes for just about any academic or extra-curricular subject.
Using the accompanying templates for Microsoft Publisher or Microsoft Word, students can collect literary quotations around a theme and print them on the faces of the boxes, along with graphics and color backgrounds.
Create equation boxes for math, scientific experiments for science, holidays for foreign languages. Have your students do a box dedicated to flowers or animals, using poetic quotes about these topics, or have them design a box around a biographical theme, with information and pictures on the faces of the box.
We have done boxes which use vocabulary words and definitions -- 6 words and definitions per box (and with a little effort you can make a game out of the vocabulary assignment, by hiding the definitions inside the box). You are only limited by your imagination and your students' imagination.
