This is a freebie from my 3-D Shapes Activity Pack. For this fun activity, students will work with marshmallows and toothpicks to build 3-D prisms and pyramids and record their data on the chart. Then they need to write about their observations. This is a great way to reinforce the ideas of edges and vertices in young students.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
I've taught elementary school for nine years. I spent eight years in fourth grade, and this is my first year in third! I'm a past president of the El Paso Reading Council, the local branch of the International Reading Association, and I'm also a Teacher-Consultant for the West Texas Writing Project, the local site of the National Writing Project. I love to teach all contents, but my heart is in literacy!
