The objective is to find locations on the coordinate grid and to name a coordinate pair for a location.
Included in this set:
30 unique bingo cards
25 question cards with answers
A full page grid with color pictures.
A ppt file for any interactive whiteboard
You may use the bingo game alone or together with the PPT file.
The PPT file is a new addition to my bingo sets. You can use it to display the questions instead of writing them on the board. Since you pick the questions randomly, every time you play there will be a different game. The answers are hidden under a box that will disappear when you click it. The numbers will change color after you return to the main board.
Check out the preview file
Thanks,
Simone
Common Core Obj:
5.G.1 Use a pair of perpendicular number lines, called axes, to define a coordinate system, with the intersection of the lines (the origin) arranged to coincide with the 0 on each line and a given point in the plane located by using an ordered pair of numbers, called its coordinates. Understand that the first number indicates how far to travel from the origin in the direction of one axis, and the second number indicates how far to travel in the direction of the second axis, with the convention that the names of the two axes and the coordinates correspond (e.g., x-axis and x-coordinate, y-axis and y-coordinate).
6.NS.6c:Find and position integers and other rational numbers on a horizontal or vertical number line diagram; find and position pairs of integers and other rational numbers on a coordinate plane
I used this to check student understanding. They loved the hands on and challenge of the game. Some of the symbols were difficult to tell apart (not all the students knew the difference between and some of the birds).

appreciate this - something new with a concept that can get repetitive with making pictures and such
I am teaching a College for Kids and am working specifically with graphing and coordinate planes. I can't wait to use your activity! Thanks so much for sharing! :)
I used this activity with my sixth grade class today and they loved it! Everyone was engaged and for the first time everyone understands that x comes first and y comes second. Thank you!
