These are all my absolute best classroom-tested puzzle time fillers that every teacher needs to have when a planned lesson ends earlier than anticipated or the kids just need a break at the end of the period.
Some puzzles I have used over the years just do not work well; these all do. What they have in common is that they are challenging, engaging to all students, and effective problem-solving/critical thinking activities.
Some involve language skills, some involve math, and some both. All you need is your marker, a whiteboard, and a few minutes of extra time. Answers provided (of course). Great activity! You commented on a couple of my freebies so I thought I would return the favor. I'm so glad I did. I love how versatile your freebie is and how any subject and most grade levels can use it. I thoroughly enjoyed testing myself on the puzzles. I can't wait to try it out on my students.

I love this! I'm going to put a few on cards to have at the ready for the moment when the kids choose to log out of their computers because it is five minutes until break and they don't want to be late for break. And yet it will take them five minutes to log back in and continue with their technology work... now they can start their break early by thinking through an interesting puzzle!

Thanks for these puzzles! I will definitely use them in class. I think they could also be a reward for behavior as they could get a puzzle at the end of class if they had excellent behavior, for example. Great freebie for any subject area!

I have these printed and on stand-by! I plan to have them as an on-going "go-to" when students are finished of their work - answers to be given only when they've completed all of the questions...or at the end of the year whatever comes first. Thanks a bunch!

I'm hugely disappointed when I see so many typos and spelling mistakes. Whoever posted these actvities needs to take the time to proofread first! Also, almost every activity I have seen befroe.

Great idea - I'm thinking about putting them in my supply teacher binder so that when someone finds themself taking voer my French classes but doesn't speak a word of it, they have something useful to engage the kids with. I'm sure it'll help with behavioural issues that arise in such cases! Thanks!

Overall good product for quick time-filler activities, brainbusters for early finishers, etc. I would love for each of the questions to be on a card / text box. It would be a better functioning classroom tool for me that wya to be able to use them as cards, laminate them, and cut them out to put in a box/hang up.

I have been primarily a middle school teacher for 27 years and have loved every minute of it. For me, "content is king." I believe the plans, printables, and worksheets I have created have above all else high-quality content, but are also practical and ready-to-use. Each item I sell has been used in my and colleagues' classrooms (teacher-tested) and is clearly written. I won't put any lesson or idea on TeachersPayTeachers unless I am certain YOU can understand it, teach with it today, and that it has value for children. And I can't be certain of that unless I have used it in my classroom. In the end, however, the best plans in the world won't make any impact unless delivered by a caring, committed, and enthusiastic teacher. Enthusiasm is the most under-rated aspect of a teacher's job. If your fire is out, they won't learn and will misbehave. If you are on fire, they will learn and they will behave for you. We do the most important job on Earth, and if we cannot put our hearts in it then we shouldn't stay in the classroom anymore. That's my two cents...
