Teach your upper elementary/middle school students about the classics. This is a list of 50 popular classics which can be read by your 4th through 8th graders. There are easier reading versions of these novels for your challenged readers, and these will motivate and challenge your gifted students. You could even have a poster made of these classics to display in your classroom.
Good tool for parents and teachers. Just understand that it is simply a listing arranged in an attractive and simple format.

Help
I have taught for 36 years at the 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade levels. Fifth grade is my first love. I teach all major subject areas. In addition to my regular classroom duties, I have taught in a Basic Skills summer school program for many years as well as taught workshops to co-workers in whole language and technology. My other duties at school include being "Teacher in Charge" and Student Council advisor.
