These student data binders are an easy to implement student data tracking system.
With these binders, your students will monitor their own growth and progress, using standards based assessments (also found in my store), rate and date their learning using Marzano's Levels of Thinking/Understanding, and students will keep track of "I can" statements or learning targets as they progress through the Common Core Standards.
Included in this data tracking binder:
-"I can" statements checklist (written in kid language) that aligns to ALL 5th Grade Math Common Core Standards
Example of "I can" statements include:
-I can read decimal numbers to the thousandths in number names and expanded forms.
-I can compare decimal numbers to the thousandths based on the place value of each digit.
-"I can" statements data table with two sections for students to rate and date their learning, and a section to document their percentage/score on final assessment.
-Pre and Post-Assessment graphs with standards aligned and listed on graph for easy tracking (assessments sold separately)
-Marzano's Level of Understanding Student Rubrics and Posters

Hello! In terms of data tracking, I am not sure I will create for these kindergarten. The point of these data binders are for students to track their own learning, understanding, and data. I fear that little kindergarten students may not be able to do this?!?! Perhaps you can offer a little more insight into this for me?!?! THANKS!!

My school has only adopted Common Core for literacy so far. Do you have a similar packet to address literacy? Also, I LOVE this idea for teaching and assessing math but since we don't use the Common Core, I can't use it as is. Are any of these documents editable? I'm hoping to change the Common Core standards to our district standards. Thanks!

If you are having trouble, try this: if you are a Mac user, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader X. If doing that doesn't work, try these options:
-If you're a Mac user, switch browsers (if you're currently using Firefox, try using Internet Explorer or Safari).
-Make sure you check Adobe under "open with" to verify that that Adobe is the program you're using to open the document and not "preview".
-Try opening the document from an entirely different computer (open directly from TpT)

Hi dkelley772 - The tracking binder is not a book per se. To use this product in your classroom, you can print a copy for each student, put it in a 3-ring binder, and have your students track their progress throughout the year. If you need additional instructions, check out my blog: www.youngteacherlove.blogspot.com. All of the products in my store are available as digital downloads only which will allow you to use these in your classroom the second you buy them. Most people prefer this method instead of having 20-30 hard paper copies shipped to them in the mail (the internet is wonderful thing isn't it!?) I hope this answers your question!

Each individual Standards Based Assessment is about 20 pages and is in my opinion, worth $3.00 a piece. I currently have them listed at $3.00 a piece, and there are 5 assessments. So, I am actually giving a discount, as they would technically be $15.00 all together. Also, in my Student Data Tracking Binder I am only charging $10, and you are receiving five $3.00 individual data binders AND another WHOLE product for free (4 Levels Assess Yourself Rubrics and Posters!).
