There are over 100 "I Can" statements aligned to the 5th Grade Literacy Common Core Standards with a fun Hollywood/Movie theme! The larger standards have been broken down into mini "I Can" statements to make it easier for the students to understand. *And the teachers!* I have coded each I Can Statement with the matching CCSS standard in the bottom corner of each I Can card. Also, each domain is color coded with a different color for organization.

There are two I Can Statements per page.

This product includes I can Statements for the common core literacy standards:
~Reading Literature
~Reading Informational
~Writing
~Speaking and Listening
~Language

All you need to do is print and laminate!

I am really hoping my grade will do this theme next year. I think these are adorable. The only thing I wish is that all the same "parts" were are the same sheet. For example, all the parts of inference were on the same sheet instead of on 2 different sheets. One of the inferences, for example, is on a sheet that has a theme part on it. It would be easier for me to have all like ones together for display purposes in my room.

Did your state adopt the common core standards as is or did they make changes to them?

As far as I know, no changes have been made at this time. I made these based on the common core standards from the website. If your state made changes and you need me to change anything or add something, let me know and I will be glad to.
