This Common Core aligned homework and quiz pack is designed to keep the key standards that your students must know constantly on their brain. This is a spiral program consisting of 9 weeks of homework (one sheet of 10 problems for each day of the week Monday through Thursday). Each of the homework sheets covers a multitude of standards, not just one. The standards are constantly revisited over the course of the 9 weeks.
There are also 8 two-page weekly multiple choice quizzes (of 10 problems each) that will allow you as the teacher to see if your students are grasping the concepts that have been taught. These quizzes will help you to better differentiate your instruction, as well as give you valuable data.
Using word problems and computation problems, this pack is designed to cover the first 9 weeks of school and includes:
Place value to the billions and thousandths
Comparing and ordering numbers (both whole and decimal)
Adding and Subtracting large numbers
Adding, subtracting, and multiplying decimals
Estimation
Prime factorization
Variables and equations
It also includes a review of 4th grade, as well as constant revision to standards previously taught.
ANSWER KEY IS INCLUDED!!!!!!

Wow! I am thoroughly impressed with this purchase. I have purchased products from Teaching in Room 6, but this one just made my life extremely easier...as I am not creating one of these each day!! Thank you!! PS - I love the answer key!!

Perfect! Thank you! If you ever make a 6th grade spiral homework, I'll take it! Thanks!
It was hard for me to ditch our text books nightly homework but I am so glad I did! My students are doing so well in math this year. I attribute it to this resource and calendar math. Thank you for these resources.
This took a lot of work, but it doesn't seem to work as well with my students as some other resources I have found. I can see how it could be very beneficial though.
Ask Teaching in Room 6 a question. They will receive an automated email and will return to answer you as soon as possible.
Please Login to ask your question.
Hi Stephanie, I am impressed by your book and will be purchasing it as soon as I finish this email. I have tons of handmade spiral review which I would like to create a book with as well. Would you be able to share with me the program you use to create the work? I have been unable to find anything which suits my needs.
thanks , Joe Tomasiello
I use both Word and PowerPoint to make all of my work.

Our fourth quarter has already started and I am anxious to finish up with your fourth quarter Spiral math. My kids love it and it has kept the skills fresh all year. Any idea when it will be available? My students are asking for it.

Hi. I just purchased the 5th Grade Spiral Math Homework and Quizzes. I teach 6th grade math and this look great for weekly review. Is if possible to get them in word doc so I can change the title? Also, I see that you say on your page for the Product Overview that the answers are included. I don't see them in my packet. Maybe I missed them and if so can you lead me in the right direction to find them please?
I can change the title for you and send out the cover page if you would like :) Due to clipart copyright terms of service, I can't send you a word document. Email me at TeachinginRoom6@yahoo.com and I will get that cover to you.
Also, the answer key is a separate file within the zip file. There should have been two identical packets when you unzipped, one with answers, one without (though the answer key file does say "Answer Key".

I saw on your website that you were working on the Homework and quiz spiral packet for 3rd and 4th grade. I am interested in your 3rd grade packet. Have you completed it? Please let me know when it is complete. The 5th grade packet looks great and I love your idea. In Philadelphia we have Everyday Math and I hate the homelink book and I experience the same issues you expressed about the spiral strategy and your concern the students never master the skills. Thanks for your attention in this matter.
Hopefully in the next few weeks. They take a long time to make and I want to make sure they are quality. I know there are a lot of people waiting for them so I am working as fast as I can!!

Will you have a set for the other 3 quarters of the school year? :)
I don't have a product called 5th Grade Common Core Math Daily/Weekly Reviews. You are probably thinking of this product from Jennifer Findley http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/5th-Grade-Math-Common-Core-Weekly-Daily-Review-Warm-Ups-40-Weeks

Would it be possible for you to note the common core standard that is being practiced with these pages? That way each teacher would be able to prove where the standard is being practiced to show to administrators and parents.
The main standards covered in the packet are in the very beginning of the product. If you mean on each page, if I have time, after I have finished with all of the other quarters, then possibly. But as of now, that is not in my plan.

Any chance you have a 6th grade Spiral Math homework and quizzes?
Hi Stephanie! I absolutely LOVE your blog and will be implmenting your calendar math into my room this year. I also wanted to buy spiral math but how do I unzip the file if I purchase this? I'm also planning on buying your calendar math templates and the sports pack but I wanted to buy them all at the same time. So if you could just let me know how I would unzip the file, I would appreciate it. :) Thank you so much for sharing all of your great ideas! :)
Angela
To unzip, on my computer at least, right click on the file with my mouse. There is then a choice that says "extract all" and it unzips it for you. The Sports pack is a straight PDF and so are the templates....so you shouldn't have a problem with those. Just make sure you have Adobe Reader (which is free online)

When I try to unzip/extract from the folder to view the preview, I am told it is invalid. Is there a way to preview this file, so I can decide whether to spend $9?
Go to my blog post about the Math Homework here at http://teachinginroom6.blogspot.com/2012/07/my-math-homework.html and you can see all 4 slides at the bottom of the post.
This is a wonderful tool- I do have a question. When you start off the year, does the daily homework start the first week of school? If so, are some of the concepts on the homework skills you have not yet covered? Do the first few weeks have 4th grade learned skill practice? Thank you so much!!
The first week of school is included in the pack. It is called "Week A" and has 4 half sheets (to get the kids used to the idea). It is all 4th grade review. Then, as the weeks go on, the 4th grade review becomes less and less, but is still there (ie: in the form of fractions and geometry)
Hello! I've been waiting for this! When I try to download the preview (compressed file), it says there is an error and cannot open it. Is this a problem on my side or is there a problem with the file? Can't wait to get it!!!
Humm....it worked for me (and I am on a different computer than the one I uploaded it from) The preview itself is a pdf file, not a compressed file. (though the product IS a compressed ZIP file) I am not sure what is going on...maybe a technical issue on your side? The preview is a compilation of pictures from the packet to give you an idea of what is inside.
