6+1 Writing Traits min booklet is written in kid friendly language. Students can use the mini-booklet to check their writing piece to make sure they have included the writing traits. Each trait has the students reflecting on their writing.
(For example: My beginning will make you want to read more. You will be interested in my piece because...) There are three reflections for each trait.
The booklet is small enough that if students create a "strategies" pocket in their writer's notebook it will fit nicely!

Hi , Is the cover in the right place ? I am trying to assemble the booklet and the website you directed me to indicates the cover of the book should be on the end .
It should be in the front. :) Another way to do it is to make sure you fold on all of the lines to make the booklet easy to manipulate. Then fold the booklet like a "hamburger". With the folded side of the booklet facing up, cut through the first rectangle. Then open the booklet and do a "hot dog" fold. Holding the ends of the booklet, push the two ends together. (The middle pages will "pop" out.) When you fold the booklet, just make sure that the cover is the first page. It took me a few times to figure it out.
