A COMPLETE and engaging lesson that illustrates the land grab that took place during the Age of Imperialism. For the lesson warm up, students analyze a Thomas Nast cartoon. Then they play a game that simulates the competitive nature of imperialism using a fictional continent. They must take into consideration both resources and people. Analysis questions are also included to debrief the game. Teacher instructions, all student handouts and answer pages included.
