These 7 Habits bookmarks make great gifts for parents or students at the beginning of the year! Parents may not be familiar with the 7 Habits their children are coming home and talking about...so what better a way for parents to feel like they know these habits than to have a bookmark of their very own? I will be giving these to my students AND parents this year. There is a set for each color of the rainbow. Laminate for durability. Enjoy!

I love this activity. I am not a teacher but I volunteer with kids from poor communities and I am so grateful for these lovely free lesson plans.I was using the book but this is a much more exciting presentation.

It is free :) that is why you were able to download it. Documents are password protected to protect the terms of use from the clip art I use in the document. You can save this document by finding the item in your downloads on your computer, and then dragging it to wherever you would like it to save; for example, your desktop. :) thanks!

I tried to download and save these bookmarks to use in school but could not save it as it asked for a password (not mine I tried). We would like to incorporate these bookmarks with our reading program as incentives, rewards etc. Thanks for your help I am VERY non techy!!

Unfortunately it is a password I must place on my items in order not to infringe on the copy right agreement I have with the clip art artist I used for this product. Items cannot be saved but can always be accessed and re-downloaded from TpT or my blog. I will not ever make this item for cost, so it will always be here for free!

Little Lovely Leaders (TpT Seller)
For "Student of the Week" I will be doing a similar program. I have not posted these items yet, but what I will be creating are posters represent each habit and its qualities. It will say something to the affect of "Proactive Student of the Week" and list the things that make someone proactive. I will place these 7 posters in a horizontal line in my classroom or just outside of the door of my room. Each week, I will pick a student who was displaying this HABIT well and let them put up their picture along with a description as to why they were chose. I will have them complete that during morning work so I do not disrupt other class time. I havent decided, but I may do that just once per month and then choose a ONE student of the week who is displaying an overall understanding for the traits that week. I guess I have not quite decided.
Some leadership roles ideas I have are:
1. Leader of message: like a courier
2. Leader of public speaking: to do announcements for me
3. Backstage hand: the behind the scenes helper that helps me with little things here and there
4. Leader of Green: recycling, making sure the lights person turned off lights, etc.
5. Greeter: student who stands with me to greet students as they enter in the morning - usually someone who gets there first each day, haha!
6. Leader of the critters: clears my room of bugs!
7. Computer technician - making sure they get turned off each day
8. Line Leader
9. Leader of Etiquette: this person will make sure people tuck their chairs in and do not make a mess at lunch. I use 2 of these.
10. Leader of the Office: this person has stapler, tape, and other office supply control. This is someone who wont break my stapler! haha!
I kind of just make up things that I need and then turn them into a fancy name that makes them sound extra special, or add LEADER to their name. Each of them is a leader of their own personal space, as well.
My blog is not up and running yet - I am currenly having a clip art pro turn it into something "pretty"...but once it is up and running, I will have posts for all of my class roles and other ideas on there. I love that you asked these things because it reminds me I should make a blog post about that!! Thanks so much! Keep the questions or ideas coming! I would love to hear ideas that work for you. :)

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for two years, and cannot wait to enter my third year this Fall! In my first year, I taught all subjects to a fifth-grade self contained classroom in Alabama. I moved to Charleston, SC and was lucky enough to get a job right away teaching my favorite subjects, fifth-grade Math and Science! We have turned into a three-way switch now at my school, so I will be teaching fifth-grade math next year. Our school has achieved partial-magnet and our focus is Leadership. I cannot wait to start living these Seven Habits in my life, as well as teaching my students to live it in theirs.
