These 8 Shakespeare Guided Reading Play Scripts come with brief summary of each. As with the majority of my guided reading scripts, these have 6 speakers each and aim to cover the key elements of each play. This is a somewhat ‘tall order’ given the brevity of each (under 5 minute each) but as a ‘snapshot’ of Shakespearean writing, these scripts deliver.
These Guided Reading Play Scripts are rather different from my usual ‘format’ which is for a set of 5 scripts, with quizzes attached and considerably longer. But they were written with a different purpose in mind – that of producing ‘Shakespeare in a nutshell’ pieces.

I taught in the U.K. for 15 years - temporary and permanent positions plus supply/substitute teaching. I taught all year groups at primary/elementary level and have done some substitute teaching since arriving in the USA. My degree was in History so I always particularly enjoyed teaching this subject, and creating class plays/assemblies around what I was teaching in the classroom - whether it be Ancient Egyptians or King Henry VIII and his Six Wives!
