I started taking attendance this way last year. I post an attendance question on the board when students enter the room. When I call their name, they respond with an answer to the question instead of the classic "here". I enjoy this activity very much and it gives you some insight to your students. An exammple question would be: "If you could have any super power, what would it be?" I tried to make the questions more complex as the school year goes by. You do not have to use the questions in order, or even use all of them. I just got most of the work done for you here, and hope that you enjoy my rejuvinating version of attendance.

I am in my sixth year of teaching. My certification is in Math grades 7-12. I began teaching in an IB/Magnet High School in Rochester, NY where I taught Precalculus, Computer Programming, and Math A. After 2 successful years, my family moved to Florida where we could enjoy the sunshine year round. For the past 4 years, I have been teaching in a suburban High School in Florida. In addition to teaching Geometry, Algebra, and AP Calculus AB, I co-chair the math department. I am currently working on my National Board Certification.
