This is a fun project that integrates reading and writing with the wonderful message of "Be True to Who You Are." It makes the cutest display and kids have a blast creating the published product.
Although I teach third grade, I have added pages to this kit to make it accessible to students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. The kit includes:
two graphic organizers to help plan writing
a rough draft page
four different versions of final product pages
a simple sentence page for younger learners
extension activities

Hi Rettag,
Aren't they adorable? I love the way these turn out. At the start of each school year I take a close up headshot of each of my students and 2 sets printed as 4x6 photos. I use one set on a board in my room and the other for various projects. In this case, I simply enlarged them using a photocopier, had the kiddos watercolor the stripes on and then cut them out.
