I really enjoyed using this unit with my class at the end of the year. All of my students had some sort of experience with camping except for two. I appreciated the variety of activities. Thanks!
We tried a Camp-in last year with our first graders.
We had the parents come to help with a "hike" around the neighborhood and a picnic lunch of hot dogs, chips, watermelon, and smore cookies (made by one of the parents). The parent also made us a pretend campfire to sit around and sing our camp songs. We'll add your ideas to make it 3-5 days of camp"in". Thanks!

I have been teaching in Elementary School for 14 years. I was a fourth grade teacher for my first 3 years. Then I switched to first grade. I will probably retire in first grade.
