This is a vocabulary building PowerPoint for Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First Grade students showing different types of community helpers and the hats they wear. It includes a firefighter, police officer, farmer, baker, painter, construction worker, and several other community helpers. I obtained the images from the web, but I am unable to give credit to the people who own the pictures. I hope that you enjoy using this free power point with your class. This would also be great in a bilingual or ESOL/ESL class.

This is my 12th year of teaching. I am in my 7th year of Kindergarten, and I love it! I began teaching in Texas 18 years ago as a Bingual Education Teacher (2 years in 1st Grade, and 1 year in Pre-Kindergarten). When my family moved to Colorado, I taught at my children's private pre-school for 2 years. Once we moved to Florida, I became a stay at home mom (again...I had taken some time off in Texas) until our 3rd child went to Kindergarten. That's when I became a Kindergarten teacher, and I found out that it is my favorite grade to teach! We now have 4 children, and I'm always trying to balance between being a mom and being a teacher!
