Start the year with this "I Like... " book. I use this book as a way to get to know some things my students like and to evaluate their writing skills during the first week of school.
The file includes
1. A detailed lesson plan for building background and modeling.
2. A detailed lesson plan for the student activity.
3. A printable 8 page booklet (students will draw and write word labels).
You will share your "likes" during the building background portion and let the students get to know YOU. The booklet can be completed independently or as a guided activity.
I start the year with this lesson, but it could be used at any time depending on skill level (kdg. could use it during the second semester).
Have fun writing with your little authors!
