A years worth of 40 word sorts! ... If you teach spelling by using phonetic patterns, then these words sets will provide all that you need for a comprehensive curriculum. I've included directions as well as more than enough word sort spelling lists to get you through an entire school year.

*directions on how to use word sorts
*directions on how to assess word sorts
*a poster of 7 word sort activities for students
*a graphic organizer for sorting
*40 sets of word sorts
These word sorts include these patterns and more:
*short vowels
*long vowels with silent e
*r-controlled vowels (ar, er, ir, or, ur)
*long vowel diagraphs (ie, ea, ee, y, igh, oa, ow, ue, ew, ui, oo)
*advanced r-controlled vowels (air, are, eer, ear, ire, ore, oar)
*complex consonant patterns (triple letter blends, silent letters, and more)
*hard g, soft g, hard c, soft c
*contractions
