This folded End of the Year Advice book is intended to let your students pass on their words of wisdom to the incoming kids. Let them impart their knowledge of how to get along well in your class, the ins and outs of what it is like to be a student in your class, as well as some sage nuggets of advice straight from "the horses' mouth".
This download is two sheets, which can be copied back to back, and folded down into a "book" size. There is then space for your students to write some of their observations from their year with you. Keep these to give to the students come September.
You can use the lined pages or the blank pages. Either way, your students will be enjoying this easy end of the year advice book...and then you have a great little beginning of the year activity!
These are designed to be completed INDEPENDENTLY with little to no explanation. Easy end of the year activity, with educational value, all rolled into one.
I would have liked this book better had the pages been half pages. Also it has a little girl on the cover. I wish you had included a copy with a little boy on the cover. My boys are not going to want to put their name on a page that has a girl.
My 3rd graders did a nice job completing these cute advice books for upcoming 3rd graders. Their feedback gave me a good idea of what's going well in my classroom (recess is still a favorite!) and puts new 3rd graders at ease in their new classroom. It also creates a sweet cross-grade connection between students. My new 3rd graders felt that somebody really cared about looking out for them and their new year. Great resource!

Used this last year, was a great way to get my kids to leave specific advice and reflect on their year.
