This A to Z Student Picture Dictionary includes a student book in black and white, as well as in color. Almost all of the pages include 10 images with labels. (Some of the pages have fewer items due to the nature of the letter, such as x or z) It is designed in two formats. The first is a half page so that you can save on printing. Copy 15 for a class of 30 and cut in half. The second format is whole page. You could also print the color pages, glue onto construction paper, laminate, and bind into 5 or 6 books to have around the classroom as a resource for students to use.
Ideas that I use in my classroom are listed in the pack, but some examples include: as a reading and writing tool, writing assignments in which I pick one image from the dictionary and students write a story to go with it, or as a challenge assignment in which students write a story using all 10 images from one page. We add words to the back of each page, but primarily use it as a Picture Dictionary.
This pack was made with DJ Inkers Clipart.

My Receptions (Kindergarteners) love their picture dictionaries. They each have a copy in their book box. We are in Australia, and so we find some of the words interesting as they are more related to American culture. This is grea though as we are trying to be internationally minded :) Thanks again! My class says thanks too!
Overall a good product, but since it is called a dictionary I wish the words were in alphabetical order and that there were guide words. I ended up cutting the pictures out an pasting them on other paper in alphabetical order to actually teach dictionary and abc order skills to younger students. Basically it saved me some time so that I didn't have to find the graphics.

Nice writing tool for some students. The lower kids use it in their book box to point and read words on each page.

I absolutely love this A-Z dictionary. I teach pre-K and plan to use the full-size colored pages for file folder A-Z letter recognition. Each student will also receive a half page A-Z dictionary the second half of the school year. Thank you so much !

My kids were thrilled when I made the black and white copy for each one of them and let them keep with their journals. We are working on lists right now and they enjoy being able to use their dictionaries. Great Job!

Great for those kids who really want to know the grownup way to spell. Good intro to alphabetizing!

Hi, I absolutely love this and have purchased it. Is it possible to get this as one page per letter?
I revised the file to include whole pages. Please go back and re-download the file if it will work better for your writing folders! :)

I am having a really difficult time printing this file. Is anyone else having trouble with this. I am not sure if the file is just too big for my printers at school to spool or what. Any advice??

This is exactly what I have been looking for but I am having trouble opening the preview. Is it me or could there be a problem with the download? By the way, I love reading your blog and hearing about your classroom!
