This a game to practice student fluency with the alphabet. The regular War! rules apply, but the catch is the cards are letters of the alphabet and you win by having the card that comes closest to the beginning of the alphabet.
Alphabetic fluency is not a standard in itself, but it can be used to help with many others. My kindergartens use it to practice their letters. My second graders are going to use it to help them be more effective with ABC ordered words. My fourth graders are going to play it for fluency when it comes to guide words in the dictionary. Use it how ever you'd like.
I also included an alphabet line up for additional support.
