(25 pages) Who does Independent Study?
* At risk students - students who are struggling in the traditional classroom due to behavioral problems. These problems could include disruptive behaviors that interfere with the learning environment. Or, it could be students who prefer to work independently, or who need individual academic feedback and guidance.
* Accelerated or highly motivated students can be challenged with extra work, or assigned work that is focused on their individual interests.
* YOU, the teacher, will decide which of your students will participate in Independent Study, and what the criteria will be. Most importantly, the individual student/advisor meetings which you hold weekly with each student will help chart the student's path to success at school.
