This PowerPoint Presentation, "Abre la Puerta," Invites students to "Open the Door to the Spanish World" and discover all of the possibilities available to those who have knowledge of another language!
Picture using this PowerPoint Presentation to WELCOME students to class on the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!
Picture using this presentation at PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES and OPEN HOUSES to have a VISUAL representation of what you re teaching!
You could also print the slides and laminate them to hang as POSTERS in your classroom to remind students of how awesome it is to study Spanish!
I took all of the photos in the presentation while walking the 800 km pilgrimage, El Camino de Santiago de Compostela. In an effort to share my love of the Spanish culture with my students, I created this presentation to show the advantages of studying another language.
Inside you will find:
-27 slides total, which include the following information:
-1 slide with a welcome message
-11 pairs of slides (22 slides total)
* the first slide invites students to "open the door"
* the second slide shows the opportunity "behind the door"
-3 slides with lists of reasons to study a foreign language
-the last side is my personal "good luck!" message!

Beautiful power point! I am going to save this for the first day of school in September. It is also a great idea to use at back to school night and have the slide show going as the parents walk in. You can even have music playing during the slide show! Thank you for sharing!

I have been teaching high school and middle school Spanish for 8 years. I also teach online Spanish classes in my "spare time" (Spare time?? Haha!). Concordia Language Villages was the wonderful place I got my start in immersion education as a counselor and art director for their Spanish Language Villages. (www.concordialanguagevillages.org)
