This activity was designed to use as a beginning of second grade review of first grade Math standards. It can also be used as a first, second, or third grade center, as most skills will build on these skills. It has an Olympics theme, and can be used as part of my Academic Olympics Team Building Unit. It can also be used as a scoot game!
This activity addresses these first grade math standards:
Operations and Algebraic Thinking
1.OA.1 and 1.OA.2 Represent and solve problems involving addition and subtraction.
1.OA.4 Understand and apply properties of operations and the relationship between addition and subtraction.
1.OA.6 Add and subtract within 20.
1.OA.7 and 1.OA.8 Work with addition and subtraction equations.
Numbers and Operations in Base Ten
1.NBT.1 Extend the counting sequence.
1.NBT.4, 1.NBT.5, and 1.NBT.6 Use place value understanding and properties of operations to add and subtract.
Geometry
1.G.1, 1.G.2, and 1.G.3 Reason with shapes and their attributes.
