Academy Award Vote. You'll want to download this program right away, since the Academy Awards will be held March 7th. This is a great program to use as an extra credit assignment. Students get to choose nominees they think will win the awards from the top five categories: Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Picture. After the awards show students who have selected at least three of the winners get some extra credit. In my classes I give 10 points extra credit towards the final points for the term. This encourages students to keep working because it helps to offset a quiz or assignment they might have fallen down on.
