Want to see your whole class actively participating, rather than the same kids raising their hands? This is a very effective tool to engage students that also drives my daily instruction while I scan the room to see who's with me, and who's not. Print and laminate a set for each student or team. I punch holes on the strips and put the sets on rings.

I use the flags to check for understanding. I scan the room when they answer the question (I say "show me")and I instantly see who is with me. It is a great way to get the students that don't normally raise their hands engaged as well.
