This is a set of 4 worksheet designed to help students develop the skill of decomposing numbers 2, 3, 5, and 6 using 1" construction paper squares in 2 different colors.
Students will create different ways to represent a number, then record the corresponding addition sentence beside each tile creation.
This activity was specifically designed for Common Core standard K.OA.3 (Decompose Numbers less than or equal to 10 into pairs in more than one way and record each decomposition by a drawing or equation)
PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE PDFs OF LEGAL-SIZE (8.5"x14" DOCUMENTS). Before printing, you will probably need to go File ->;Print Setup and adjust your print settings to "Legal" size paper. Make sure your printer is also set to fill the entire page.

The squares are too small for 1 inch paper squares for #'s 2 & 3. Otherwise is works for the rest of the numbers.

You have a few options. The first (and best) option is to buy the set that I sell for letter-size paper.

Your second option is to purchase this item and set your printer to "fit" the page onto letter size paper. You will be able to print all text and images, but the boxes will be a little bigger than 1/2" each. I just tested it out on my own printer and the boxes are still large enough for most kindergarteners to work with.

There is an error on the page entitled four ways to make 3. The directions tell to cut paper in one inch squares to make the number 2. It should say 3.

Unfortunately, I do not sell a combined set. I would love to carry one, but since some sets are letter-size and others are legal-size, customers would have too many issues printing the documents successfully.
