This is a worksheet with a visual to help the students add up three addends. Each addend has two numbers that add up to 10. It is great for teaching students to add up two numbers they know and then add their final number.
I used this with my first graders last week. Great concept!! The kids loved making the rainbow and I loved how they made the connection with the "friends of 10" through the colors of the rainbow. Thank you for sharing this! It's great!!
Thanks for the free download. I really liked the ability to use color in the worksheet to visually link the different number bonds that add to 10. I believe I put a comment about it on your blog with a link to pictures of us using it on our classroom (I just didn't want to leave the link here as this is your store).
Thanks again.
I love this. My 1st graders were working on different ways to make 10. They loved this activity and were fully engaged the entire time. Of course, this increased learning! Thanks so much for this wonderful freebie :)
I loved this and adapted it for learning which two numbers make ten. Hopefully, they will get to the part in the future where we can use the actual page to learn about adding three numbers.
Not a teacher, but a parent that loves this site. Thank you for this worksheet! Will be great for my first grade twins, and also for my 3rd grader who still struggles with his math facts. I have been trying to explain the "tens trick" to him, but this is way better than my sorry attempt!!
