3 easy-to use ready-made activities for teaching adjectives!
1. Adjectives Chart Worksheet: For each short sentence, students will identify the adjective and decide which question it answers (Which one? What Kind? How Many?)
2. Two mad-lib sheets that leave out the adjectives. Simply have your students write down ten random adjectives, then pass out the mad-lib and have them insert the adjectives in the blanks to make some goofy stories (this is a good way to introduce why choosing the right adjective is so important).
3. Writing Component: OUR CLASSROOM WAS CONDEMNED! Explain to your students that the police have condemned our classroom for being too messy. Have your students use the sheet provided to describe the awful state their classroom is in. Pair this with a strip of caution tape and this makes a GREAT bulletin board or hallway display. (One year, I had a student come up with the idea that I had accidently let my pet monkey loose in the room…he then went on to explain what a huge mess the critter made!)
All activities can be easily altered to fit your particular lesson.
