Games are a simple way to create a more active learnig environment: We retain much more of what we learn by actively doing than by any other method! This is especially important to children with learning challenges-physical or academic limitations. Creative Movement helps to minimize the limitations and create more opportunities for fun, sensory integration, successful learning and successful friendships.
Creative Movement Games are not only fun, but incorporate exercise, imitation, imagination & creative problem solving, rhythm, teamwork, body/sensory integration, body awareness, balance, focus and also act as a fun transitional activity before or after homework, a test or learning a difficult math concept for example.
Movement games can be used as a motivator to get a job done, a reward for doing our best work, or a creative way to teach dance, yoga or OT.
Exercise does not have to be boring! This fun game has suggested ages, materials & variations. Feel free tro use your own creativity to modify them to fit the age/needs of your students or child.
