Mr. Peterson, a popular social studies teacher, must decide whether or not to support a student boycott of the school cafeteria. His students, inspired by the study of Dr. King,want to peacefully picket the cafeteria in protest of the school board continuing to purchase non-union picked produce. Mr. P.'s contract obligates him to report any student protest to the school administration.
