The Rise and Fall of Jim Crow Webquest
Objective: Students will gain basic knowledge about Jim Crow laws and discrimination in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The origins of the Civil Rights Movement will also be explored through this lesson. The following website will provide the information for the webquest.

Introduction: Handout the webquest. Have students do all or one of the webquests at a time. Another option is have students work in groups of threes and share their answers through discussion during the next class period.
Materials needed: Jim Crow Webquest (See Below) and computers
Input and Activities: Give students at least one class period to complete the webquest and have a classroom discussion on the questions the next day.
Closure: Connect the lesson to current events or in explaining the necessity of the Civil Rights Movement.
