This activity takes one period and uses a website from Scholastic that has a timeline of African American History. It is a good "refresher" activity as well as covering some key information about African American History. Great for those in a tested area, who can't spend a week on AA history month. Help
I created most of my viewing guides while home on maternity leave. They are designed strictly as on task activities NOT higher level thinking. I have some additional assignments posted, but please take this into consideration when downloading a viewing guide. I only make 30 cents each off them, but I am learning a lot and will have them ready for me to go back the classroom. =) After teaching Middle School for 6 years, I am taking a break to teach Job Corps students resume skills, employment skills and preparing them for their driving tests. In Middle School: I taught US HISTORY and Government for 5 years to 8th graders. I also taught one year of WORLD GEOGRAPHY to 6th graders. 5 of those years I also taught at least one READING ENRICHMENT class.
