This game was teacher created and student tested for fun! A great way to practice syllables. This game can be used for literacy centers or stations, partner games, or small group practice. This game was created by Kathy Law for kindergarten, first grade, second grade, or anyone who needs extra practice.
I put these in the their literacy bags and they love them!

I stop by your blog first to look at the ideas as it mirrors the needs of my kids. I am trying to re-organize my math and literacy games so they can be simply pulled as needed according to curriculum and student need. The have always looked forward to playing the games, much better than a worksheet!
I play this game with my first graders once or twice a week on my ELMO. They love "tapping" out the word parts on their tables and shouting out the answers to me! Great game and will soon be making its rotation into my Word Work activities when I do Daily 5.

Hi Kathy... I love your games. I downloaded Ahoy-Mates yesterday and was wondering if you had an answer key already made. I know you usually have one included. If not, no worries... I just thought I'd ask before making one.
Again... thank you for all of the wonderful "creations" you share.
Hey.. No, I did not make an answer key for this game. If you want one to match the game, I can do that. My thinking on that game was that I wanted more game cards to play with than an answer key.
Thanks!
Kathy
