I am a Community Nutritionist who has worked in schools teaching students about healthy eating for over 13 years. I have written five books for teachers to use in the classroom as an excellent resource to create a healthy eating policy through fun activities, crafts, and parent/child activities. I have also written a book for the homeschool environment for those educators that would like to provide accurate and effective nutrition education to enhance the health curriculum. My first fiction book for Grades pre-K to grade 6, available in both French and English, is an excellent resource to help teach healthy eating concepts to the classroom. A four food group craft is included in the back of the book!! All activities are curriculum based in an effort to make the use of this material easy to transition into regular classroom subjects; such as, language arts, math, social studies, and health. The Inspired Sprouts Classroom Nutrition Programs are being used in primary schools around Alberta. All grade levels have been extremely effective in linking the nutrition concepts learned in school to the home environment so parents and teachers are supported when they put the healthy eating suggestions into practice.
