My students and I spent some time brainstorming a name for an area of the classroom to "chill out". Lots of creative names were thrown out there, but something amazing happened! I stumbled upon a blog post by Lisa Lizak at http://madeintheshadeinsecondgrade.blogspot.com/2012/01/classroom-pics.html. It was then that "Alaska" became a part of my classroom landscape.
