School5(c) re: The Courage of Sarah Noble--Reading Response Questions
Will the guide be sent to my house or can I download it from my computer?

Hi, I am pretty sure you just download it from the site. If you can't get it to download, send me a note back with your email address, and I'll just send it to you as an attachment.
Thanks,
Kristin

Hi Samantha,
Sorry for not providing directions! I guess I should edit that! Anyway, what I did was give the kids the first sheet, and they used the words from the bottom to create individual boards. They take the words at the bottom of page one and write one word per box in whichever boxes they choose. The big words on page two can be printed out for you to use as calling cards. I used this activity with my teammates when I taught 2nd grade. We had a celebration day to end our Polar Regions Unit, and the kids would play in the snow and then all the 2nd graders would sit in the cafeteria, drink hot cocoa, eat Goldfish crackers (which we also used as Bingo Markers!) and play this game. What I did was copy the second page of this activity on an overhead transparency and cut it up. I then put the words up one at a time on the overhead so all 5 classes could see it on the big screen in our "cafetorium." When I gave the words, I didn't say the word, rather I gave them a clue to find the word. I'd say, "I am a bird that is a penguin predator" and they'd answer, "Skua" and then I'd put the word up on the overhead.
I hope that helps and I apologize if my description was laborious! Hope you like it, and have a great holiday!
Kristin
