Simplifying Fractions
Objectives:
Students will explain similarities and differences in simplifying numeric, monomial, and polynomial fractions and will simplify fractions of all three types.
NCTM Standards:
Students recognize and use connections among mathematical ideas.
Students understand how mathematical ideas interconnect and build on one another to produce a coherent whole.
California Content Standards:
(12.0) Students simplify fractions with polynomials in the numerator and denominator by factoring both and reducing them to the lowest terms.
