Arithmetic With Radicals

Objectives:
Students will add, subtract, multiply, and divide radicals; rationalize quotients, using a conjugate if necessary; and multiply binomials containing radicals.

NCTM Standards:
Students recognize and use connections among mathematical ideas.

California Content Standards:
(1.0) Students identify and use the arithmetic properties of subsets of integers and rational, irrational, and real numbers, including closure properties for the four basic arithmetic operations where applicable.
