This Animal Groups unit is all about teaching the 6 main different classifications of animals - insects, amphibians, reptiles, fish, birds, and mammals.
This unit includes:
*Lesson Plans
*Recommended books
*Cover Page titled "My Animal Book" to make if binding all unit materials into a book
*Original Emergent Reader that incorporates distinguishing characteristics of the different animals groups
*Half-size version of emergent reader
*Half-size of emergent reader without pictures for student illustration
*4 Venn Diagrams to compare/contrast different animal groups
*6 Label the Parts diagrams - one for each animal group
*Animal Investigations Organizer
*Animal Classifications Organizer
*Teacher Resource - filled out animal classifications organizers for all 6 animal groups
All pages are formatted to work together in a book if desired or to pull separately to teach different animal groups at different times.

The Junior Mad Scientist (TpT Seller)
This is super cute and well done. the only thing i didn't like is the fact that you say birds have hallow bones. i came from a nature center background and it is a huge misconception that bird bones are hallow. (they have bone marrow) their bones are just less dense. bones have a spongy type composition and a birds bones simply has more "holes" not a hallow at all.

Thank you for your constructive feedback. I have changed the word "hollow" to "spongy". Please re-download to get the change in the stories. I love science and this year started teaching 6-8th middle school science. I made the change after working with 2nd grade and under for many years. My first career was in architecture and I enjoy being full-time science. It was one of my favorite things to teach in first grade the last couple of years and I have a lot more science units I want to share for K-2 as well as older kids. I hope you like the revision.
