All Quiet on the Western Front is, in my opinion, the best war novel ever. This download includes lesson plans and a schedule for reading the entire novel in 8 or 9 class periods or at home, vocabulary handouts with definitions for unfamiliar words (including British slang and military terms), and an introductory handout for students.
These materials were prepared by a World History teacher who uses All Quiet to teach World War I.
Its companion piece, my All Quiet on the Western Front Chapter Questions, is also available for download to use as homework or reading comprehension quizzes specifically designed to outsmart the SparkNotes or Cliff Notes reader.
